Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving; meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains, that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.

Colossians 4:2-4

Father God, we worship you today as the God who hears the prayers of your children. It is overwhelming to us that you, the Creator and Sustainer of all things chooses to give an ear to our prayers and chooses to respond. You tell us things we do not know and you meet our needs according to your glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

In our thanksgiving, we also cry out to you for open doors in these days – doors for the carrying of your truth into the marketplaces of our lives. Fill us with your truth and grant us the heart to speak it boldly in love. Across this land today, may your people be filled with a humility before your throne and a boldness before others, that your name may be sounded across the communities of our nation.

May we remember that as we touch you in prayer, we are having great influence in this world. We receive that precious truth into our lives today – in Jesus’ name. Amen.
