You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men

O God, you have called us to yourself through your Son and our Savior, Jesus. You have given us the gift of the Holy Spirit to teach us your ways and to sustain and strengthen our daily lives. Your words call us to season our world by being a reflection of your heart and character – by being your ambassadors in the world.

Forgive our choice to rebel and sin against you. Deliver us from the attachment to what is unclean; from wrong associations, evil passions and self-centeredness. We come to you and seek your mercy and grace; the renewal of the seasoning of your heart and mind within us. Give us grace to be holy, kind, gentle and pure. Grant us courage to live for you and not for ourselves. Create in us a burning passion to imitate your words and deeds, to be transformed into your likeness, to be consecrated fully to you, to live entirely for your glory. Fill our mouths with your praise across this land today! In Jesus’ name – Amen.
