The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore, let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk property, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.
Romans 13:12-14Holy Father, You alone know the timing of the future and the day when You will bring all things to light by the laser beam of Your presence and truth. In these days, Your Spirit calls us out of darkness and into the light. We confess that we have too long lingered in the presence of the deeds of darkness, even within Your body, the church. Forgive us, O Lord, for loving the darkness more than the light and grant us Your guidance to return to the walk of decency before You.
Teach us again through Your Word and the presence of Your Spirit the desires of Your heart. Grant us courage to follow Your truths without shame and to walk in Your ways with confidence. Renew a passion within us for Your Word. May Your truth dwell richly and deeply in our lives and may we know the difference between darkness and light, so that we may walk in Your light and love and lead others to follow Your ways. In the name of the Lord Jesus, we pray – Amen.
