In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

Father, today we praise you for the precious and powerful gift of your Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, you are our guide, our teacher, our enabler; you bring all the resources of Heaven to our lives each day. Forgive us for when we turn to our own wisdom and strength to try to do things we were never meant to do on our own. Forgive us for living beneath the privilege of the fullness of your presence. As we face life today, we pray for a freshness and renewal of your presence, for a confidence that if we watch and listen, you will lead us in the paths of righteousness.

We pray for your people across this nation today to seek you, O God, and to know the joy that comes from walking in your presence. May we be a shining light that points others to you. May your children worship you with our lips and our lives in ways that are pleasing to you. We trust not in the securities offered by this world, but in the guaranteed eternal inheritance that is found only in you. May our lives be a praise offering to you this day – in Jesus’ name – Amen.
