They confronted me in the day of my distress, but the Lord was my support. He brought me out to a wide-open place, He rescued me because He delighted in me.

Lord, we are often overwhelmed by our daily circumstances. We allow events such as turbulence in the stock market, the posturing of political candidates and conflict around the world to distract us and cause distress. In spite of the evidences of your presence and the certainty of your grace and peace, we are often face to face with despair.

Help us to see and celebrate your support. It is beyond our ability to comprehend that you choose to rescue your children because you delight in us. May we rest in that truth and may we see the circumstances of life as you see them. Most of all, may we simply rest in you. Forgive our unbelief and grant us the confidence to daily seek your face and live according to your purposes. In Jesus’ name – Amen.
