Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself

Philippians 2:3

Father, as we come before you today, we desire to be clothed in humility, to be stripped of any pride and arrogance that would separate us from your presence and power. May we not choose to be wise in our own eyes, but humble ourselves under your mighty hand.

We submit ourselves to your Word that analyzes the very thoughts of our hearts. Test us, that we would see any selfish ambition or conceit that is in us. May we see the power of hiding your Word in our hearts that we might not sin against you.

Father, may we see others as you see them and may we respond with your love and grace to all people so that others may experience your love and grace through us. In these days of political change and economic instability, may we know the security that comes from serving you and serving others. Grant us a heart like yours today – in Jesus’ name, Amen.
