He who walks with integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will become known

Lord, today I pray that the leaders of our land would be characterized by uncompromising, thorough integrity. May the government, business, military, educational and media leaders all value honesty and forthrightness. May you create within the hearts of our leaders a deep sense of shame for any form of dishonesty. May you cause our leaders to value the approval of God and the healthy esteem of their fellow citizens.

Protect our leaders from greed and its enticements. Guard our leaders from pride which would sacrifice the well being of the people for an individual’s personal gain. May our leaders be keenly aware that one day they will stand before Almighty God to give an account for their actions and they and their descendents will be subjected to the courtroom of history for an appraisal of how they lived and how they led.

Lord, finally, as painful and heart wrenching as it may be, may you expose and weed out from leadership those who refuse to embrace integrity. May you shine your holy light upon them so they lose their place of influence in our nation. We acknowledge before you today our need for personal and national cleansing of sin and we come asking for great grace and mercy to be upon us all. In Jesus’ name – Amen.
