Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patience in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.
Romans 12:10-13Lord, we worship and praise you today for who you are. You know all things, nothing escapes your attention and nothing surprises you. You reign as the Lord of heaven and earth. You never leave us or forsake us. As we awake today with newly elected leaders in our nation, you have not changed, your plans and purposes remain and will be accomplished according to your perfect timing.
Today, we ask that as your children, we reflect your heart as revealed by Paul in Romans. May we be kind to all people, speaking and acting with words and deeds that reflect honor and respect. Renew our spirits to serve you more passionately. Allow us to rejoice in the hope that is found in our relationship with you. May we not bend to the pressures of life, but be steadfast in spending time before you so that we may see life from your perspective. As we walk forward today as a nation, grant us a heart for you, a heart of praise that no matter what life brings, your presence is sufficient for every moment. We praise you and worship you above all things and people for you are the Mighty God and the Everlasting Father. We pray in the name of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord – Amen.
