For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places.”

“Father, today, as your children, we come to praise your Name for your mercies which are new and fresh every morning. In the midst of the chaos of relative truth, compromised values and misplaced trust, we lift up the eternal truth that in you, Lord, there is no shadow of change or compromise. You are the eternal truth, the Alpha and Omega and we can place our trust fully in you.

 As we face the issues and decisions of life, may we run after the spiritual armor you have provided for the spiritual battle. Give us your perspective on the reality of the spiritual warfare between good and evil. Help us to move beyond seeing things superficially to recognize the deeper truth of the battle between light and darkness that engulfs those around us. May we be salt and light to help others move toward the light and away from the darkness of this age.

 We also pray for those in authority, for a willingness to seek your face and your power instead of the relative truth and false gods of wisdom set loose by the powers of darkness. May our leaders recognize that without your eternal truth as their guide and your power as their source, they are powerless and victims against the spiritual hosts of wickedness. Finally, we cry out to you and ask that the victory you have already won through the cross be applied to every thought, word and decision in our lives today. In the name of Jesus – Amen.”
